If your shoulders or scapular area tends to be weak, this band exercise is a great way to strengthen them. It essentially targets the scapular area with a squeezing motion, helping build those muscles and reduce pain in the shoulders, scapular region, and even the neck.
What you’ll need to use is a band, held in your hands, palms up. With your elbows at your sides, pull the band out, away from your body and pinch the shoulder blades together. The result should have your arms looking like the letter W. Avoid pulling them at the sides and only working the arms; the focus should be in the upper back region. Repeat several times and rest.
