Cervical radiculopathy occurs when a spinal nerve root in the neck becomes compressed or irritated, often due to disc herniation, bone spurs, or arthritis. This leads to pain and neurological symptoms along the path of the affected nerve.
Symptoms
Sharp, burning, or shooting pain radiating into the shoulder, arm, or hand
Numbness, tingling, or muscle weakness in a nerve root pattern
Pain worsens with neck movements, such as extension or rotation
