Hope Pickus, PT, DPT, CMTPT
Physical Therapist
Dr. Hope Pickus is a passionate physical therapist who graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences and a minor in Integrative Approaches to Health and Wellness. She then earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Stony Brook University on Long Island, New York. After completing her final clinical internship in Washington, DC, she decided to make the area her home.
Hope’s treatment approach combines strength and conditioning, stability training, and hands-on manual therapy to provide comprehensive, individualized care. She believes that rehabilitation should not only relieve pain but also build strength, resilience, and confidence, empowering patients to return to the activities they love and continue doing them for years to come. She is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and frequently incorporates dry needling with targeted movement strategies to address her patients’ restrictions and functional deficits.
As a runner herself, Hope has a special interest in treating running-related injuries, in addition to a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including sports injuries and pre- and post-operative rehabilitation. She also has experience working with individuals diagnosed with POTS, fibromyalgia, and TMJ/TMD. Additionally, she is LSVT BIG certified, providing her with specialized knowledge in treating individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions.
Outside the clinic, Hope enjoys cheering on her Buckeyes, playing tennis, hiking, and training for road races. She has completed several half marathons and the New York City Marathon, with many more races to come.
