This Physical Therapist position helps support a busy physical medicine and physical therapy practice in Bethesda, Maryland that includes the lead physiatrist MD, physical therapists and other complimentary modality staff. The position requires good judgment, initiative, independent thinking and problem solving in a team-oriented environment.

Our model will enable you to see 1-2 patients per hour, allowing you to spend high quality time with your patients. Duties Will Include:

  • Consulting with patients to learn about their physical symptoms and limitations
  • Instruct, motivate, safeguard, and/or assist patients practicing exercises and/or functional activities
  • Record treatment, stretches, and exercises supervised and equipment used
  • Observe patients during treatment to compile and evaluate data on patients’ responses and progress
  • Confer with physical therapy staff or others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment
  • Develop home exercise programs and help patients with compliance
  • Ensure clinical documentation meets industry and insurance standards
  • Modify interventions as necessary to achieve anticipated goals and expected outcomes
  • Develop and implement discharge plans
  • Assist in explaining benefits to patients (i.e. copay, coinsurance, deductible, out of pocket, etc.)

Essential Skills and Requirements:

  • 2 years of outpatient clinical experience
  • Strong manual therapy skills required
  • Dry needling certification is a PLUS
  • Advanced understanding of insurance documentation requirements
  • The ability to communicate and interact with patients clearly and with compassion is a MUST
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written English), bilingual a plus but not a requirement
  • Desire for professional and personal growth and development
  • Ideal candidate must be extremely reliable, highly flexible, energetic, motivated, able to multi-task with a high degree of accuracy, work well with others, and have a strong interest in helping people
  • Computer literacy. Experience using an electronic medical record is a plus.
  • CPR Certification is a requirement
  • DPT degree strongly preferred
