Alexandra Lonner, PT, DPT, TPS
Physical Therapist
Dr. Alexandra (Ali) Lonner graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology of Global Health. There, Ali’s passion for physical therapy grew after experiencing her own injuries throughout her time as a Division I soccer player. Following college, she worked for two years as a medical assistant at an orthopedic surgery practice in Washington, D.C. before beginning graduate school at Duke University where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Ali enjoys providing care to patients with a wide variety of orthopedic conditions, from sports injuries to chronic low back, neck, and joint pain. As a certified Therapeutic Pain Specialist, Ali addresses pain utilizing a biopsychosocial model, recognizing the various factors that are in play in each client’s pain experience. She uses a treatment approach consisting of a combination of manual and exercise therapies individualized to the patient’s specific condition while taking into consideration the patient’s own goals and circumstances. Managing pain and working with the patient to help them maximize their function and meet their goals are some of her main priorities in treatment.
Outside of the clinic, Ali loves walking around DC, trying out new restaurants, and playing pickup soccer.
