Patient Testimonials

I was so pleased with the physical therapy that I received with Lauren Melito and her team for my shoulder . Lauren was so knowledgeable about my condition and worked with me close to three months to help eliminate the pain I was experiencing and showed me exercises that I could do on my own. Working with Lauren and her team was a well-coordinated positive experience. She supervised my sessions carefully. I give Lauren and her pt team an A!
SHOULDER PAIN RELIEF

If you have pains and aches, or body damage, Dr. Klaiman is the absolute best physician we have encountered in this area in over twenty years. In this day and age of fast medicine and 1 minute diagnoses, or immediate surgical fixes, here is a physician who truly instills calm and confidence and is careful. Many years ago he was the only doctor who finally gave me an accurate diagnosis for back pain, and resolved it with nonsurgical approaches. Has since cared for friends and family with positive experiences by all. The growth of the practice speaks to the outcomes of his care.

I had my sixth acupuncture session today with Dr. Mark Klaiman. I left floating on a cloud. My back wasn’t hurting and hasn’t been hurting since my fifth acupuncture treatment. I couldn’t say that after any of the earlier interventions I have tried over many years with professionals of many varieties and many settings. Trying to understand what produced the dramatic result this time was challenging. The six weeks of Dr. Klaiman‘s particular version of acupuncture was undoubtedly the most important. I’m guessing that the result would not have been as dramatic had it not been combined with more than a year of working with Joanna Bakos, a brilliant, physical therapist, who is also part of the Point Performance team. I also want to laud the climate at Point Performance. everyone I have encountered there is uniform, competent, considerate, and clearly dedicated to the improved health and well-being of everyone who comes through their doors.

I have worked with Dr. Klaiman for close to 3 years now and he is part of the “dream team” of doctors in DC that keeps my body going after 10 years of professional skiing, allowing me to remain an amateur athlete not afraid to hold back in my day to day work outs and more extreme skiing outings all over the world. His acupuncture work has been instrumental in reducing tightness in my lower back, glutes, and quads, and I can easily feel the difference the day after an appointment. Also a very nice, laid back fellow – which can be hard to find in today’s medical world!

Glad to extol the PT services provided by Point Performance Medicine in Bethesda. I am recovering from a shoulder operation, and I could not have found a better place to begin my physical therapy. The facility is modern and immaculate and parking easy and free. Most importantly, the staff — from the administrative to the PT staff– are all that you would want — caring, professional, courteous, encouraging, and thorough. I feel that I have gained a support team and now am on my way to a full recovery. Highly recommend this company if you need physical therapy!

Dr. Hechtman is a highly skilled physical therapist. He noticed issues with body mechanics that no other therapist or orthopedist had before. He developed a plan to correct the issues and now pain is decreased, strength is increased, and athletic performance is significantly improved. Not to mention he is a really nice guy who cares a lot about his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Hechtman.

Point Performance and Dr. Klaiman represent the best in American medical practice that I have encountered in recent years. His staff is helpful and pleasant, appointments get made within a reasonable time. Dr. Klaiman listens carefully, has practical suggestions and offers real explanations. He is also personally very pleasant.
THE BEST IN AMERICAN MEDICAL PRACTICE

My physical therapist was Adam Gershowitz. There are not enough superlatives to describe him as a PT. He genuinely cares about us. I was referred because of back surgery, however, in January 2008, I had a total hip replacement. The exercises and manipulations not only have strengthened my back, but have also helped with the discomfort I was still experiencing after hip surgery. He was able to pinpoint why there has been this problem and has been able to relieve a lot of the discomfort. His knowledge of the muscle, nerve, and bone relationship is incredible. If you are fortunate enough to find a person who allows you to perform things you were unable to do because of pain and discomfort, you are so very grateful. Adam has been a miracle worker.

THANK YOU for referring me to Michal for PT for my shoulder. I know my pain level was pretty low (and you were shocked that someone my age had never been to PT), but it was interfering with my sleep and daily activities. Thanks to Michal, I am basically pain-free, and when I feel a twinge I get more diligent about my exercises. She has such a nice way about her, and has such gifted hands. She was also excellent at scrutinizing every detail of my movements, making sure I was doing everything correctly (and being extremely patient when I would forget week-to-week). And I would get dry needling every week if possible! She is great. Kudos also on the excellent team you’ve assembled at Point Performance—it’s one of the best run and most pleasant places I’ve been. All the ladies at the front desk and scheduling are so nice (and they seem to enjoy their jobs very much, which makes being there so much better than your average doctor’s office). The bad thing about healing is not getting be in your positive atmosphere all the time! While I hope I don’t have to come to PP again, it is great knowing that if I am injured, there is a fantastic team there to help.

I have personally worked with Dr. Klaiman for six years. Simply put, Dr. Klaiman is an outstanding clinician, but more importantly, an excellent human being. He shows empathy and compassion for all my patients. Dr. Klaiman can develop comprehensive preoperative and postoperative rehabilitation plans for my patients, allowing them to become pain free more quickly and back-to-work sooner. I recommend Dr. Klaiman to any patient without reservation.
