Dr. Joey Flood specializes in sports medicine and orthopedics and has spent more than a decade helping athletes of all ages and abilities to reach their health and fitness goals. Through his experience, he has developed and established several orthopedic post-surgical rehabilitation protocols that are used in current practice.
Certified in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, Joey uses a systematic and objective approach to understand each individual’s unique symptoms. This helps him determine the true pain-generating source to treat as effectively and efficiently as possible. Incorporating his knowledge as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Joey naturally excels in guiding clients from rehabilitation to high-level athletic performance. By adopting a full-body approach, he spends time examining the entire body for structural deviations and muscle imbalances to determine factors that may predispose an individual to developing pain. This insight helps to reduce the risk of future episodes of pain and to optimize athletic performance.
Joey completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. A Maryland native, Joey enjoys spending time with his fiancé, family and friends, being outdoors, hiking, snowboarding/skiing, traveling and reading.
